Pancake and sausage suppers go well too. So do BBQed meals. Brats and kraut, chips and a soda for a simple price is a good idea too.
You can probably get the ingredients for the dinner donated from your local grocery store. Lots of stores donate to things like this as its great for their reputation and is a tax deduction at tax time.
Pasta is cheap, fills people up.
Do finger food like piggies in blanket and fruit-shka-bobs or shrimp-shka-bobs or veggie-shka-bobs or sliders (miniature burger), or grilled panini's, or bagels with some type off good creamed cheese a great hummus dip, or some veggie quesodillas, or get a blender and whip up some cold smoothies and pass those around with some veggies and ranch or fruit platters with strawberry cream or fruit dip, cool whip what ever gets the people salivating. Do some cold ice-cream servings or cucumber and dill cream cheese bite size sandwitches. Im just thinking cool summer foods that can be passed around on small platers, cups, plates, and bowls. That way there are a lot of diverse options.
My mother, sister and best friend are wanting to throw me a benefit dinner to help cover some of my outrageous medical bills that have accumulated due to my having double ovarian/Uterine cancer. I was first treated at a local hospital, then they moved me to university hospital. My case was very complex and I ended up having to leave state on occasion to get treated at Cleveland Clinic. June 16, 2014 the wonderful Cleveland clinic surgeons were able to by the grace of God remove all the cancer, but with that the medical bills for all the prior treatments, surgeries, etc have added up.
There will be approximately 300 people on the guest list for the benefit. These are things we are needing to know?
~Food? what is a good menu? how much to charge? and should drinks be charged separately?
~Chinese Auction? How much to charge? and who to ask for donations?
~What types of facilities may donate there hall or park?
~50/50 drawing? how to charge for tickets?
any additional info would be wonderful! Thank you for your time!
