How to throw a bohemian themed party?

It's a bohemian party! That practically makes itself!

Since you're having that style of shindig, I'm going to assume that your friends are at least a little bit artistic and easy going.

Get a jam session going if any of your friends play instruments. Guitars, violins, bongos, whatever.

Make it a potluck picnic. Get everyone to bring something to nibble on. Keep it mildly organized by asking each person what they're bringing so you don't end up with five giant bowls of potato salad or nothing but cupcakes.

communal wine. Sharing bottles and glasses is an ancient sign of trust and friendship. If you have germaphobes in the group, however, just share the wine in the usual manner.

Party Painting: Either get several smaller canvases or one large one or all of the above. You can usually find them for cheap in Dollar Stores or you can invest in better quality and go to an art supply store. also get some paints and brushes, or request your friends to each bring their medium of choice. Let everyone paint/draw/spraypaint on the same canvas at will and you will be left with a beautiful momento created by your friends.

I'm just wondering if the spot you picked has any shelter from the sun/wind/rain/whatever else might crop up or if you just want some tent-like structures for your boho-feel. I'll put a link to a simple pallet playhouse in the sources.

And all gypsy parties must have Gogol Bordello music at some point. It' a law. That I made up.

Hey guys, so me and my friends want to throw a bohemian/hippie themed party. i want it to be quite small (only about 10-15 people). I've already found a venue. Its a small field with beautiful long white grass. there are also areas with short grass so i was i was thinking of having a little campfire and laying out some blankets and pretty Boho pillows. I'll probably set out some candles in mason jars and have some sparklers. Maybe even some solar fairy lights. do you have any suggestions as to how else to decorate, and what activities to plan. i also need a Boho/hippie themed playlist... do you have any suggestions for songs?

much appreciated, guys!

thank you
