Best way to do it is to use Brasso or Bar Keepers Friend. Scrub clean and to a shine. Then use dish soap like Dawn to clean it and thoroughly rinse like you would any pan in the sink. Then you will be all set.

Use rubbing alcohol. Just avoid getting it on any wood parts, because it dries the wood out really bad.

Hey I have a really old hookah that has metal with a wooden stem. I want to start using it again but the bottom of the metal base has a lot of black tar on it. Does anybody know the best and safest way to thoroughly clean the base. Thank you :)
