How to become a cheerleader?

Haha same here,i'm going out for cheerleading in highschool also..But what you can do is stretch really good.Trust me it's important..i've been in dance since i was 5,i quit when i was 11 ,and now i've started back..i'm not as flexible as i use to be but i started looking for ways to stretch and found a good channel on youtube to help.. it's ''Fitforafeast'' they help ALOT.they are for both dance and cheer.and of course you can do it :D i'm 13 and i'm 85 pounds and i'm skinny likewise. little people can do big things xD don't let that hold you back ..good luck [:

Most cities haves kids football team league (6-18) that have a cheerleading league that go with it (6-18) they r separated into four groups: atom 6-8, peewee 9-11,jr Bantam 12-14, Bantam/senior 15-18

And so you learn cheers, tumbling, jumps, stunts and all that and then have competition. I'm in 7th grade going into 8th and this is the 2nd week of cheerleading being started, and we have 2 practices a week which is Wednesday and Friday, games usually on Sundays, and competition at the end of the season (November-December) and the price is somewhere in between $150-$200

So it would get you prepared and know how it works and all and learn new cheerleading stuff, and so you don't get confused when you start highschool cheer, you know a bunch of cheers before you tryout, you can do, and are experienced in stunting, and have been to competition and games and so you know how it works, and all. You should look up your cities name then cheerleading like: Washington cheerleading or washington kids cheerleading or Washington football and cheerleading, etc. But I'd get on it because most start by the beginning if July, but you could probably register late, but you have to be there for at least one month of summer to learn cheers and all that, because games start as soon as school starts

You pretty much have all the things you can do alone. As far as splits go If you do them on a hardwood floor in socks your back foot will just slide back and once it is easier to keep your back leg straight then go onto carpet. Make sure you stretch every day twice a day. Work on your splits when you are watching tv just sit in the splits for as long as you can. Flexibility is a major part of cheerleading because it affects everything the more flexable you are the higher your jumps will be and the cooler stunts you can do. I don't know how tall you are but judgeing on your weight you will be a flyer, just like bases are expected to be strong flyers are expected to be flexible and have good balance. Something you can do to help you with stunting in the future is stand with the ball of your right foot on a small soup can or the edge of a step and practice pulling scorpions,libs, heel stretches,etc. This will prepare you for stunts in the future. As far as practices go this is for my school but we have early morning one at 5:30 until 7:00 because most of us are in other sports that have after school practices. In practice we work on endurenc and do an ab work out then we practice stunts and cheers the res of the time. As far as being popular it is not like movies and tv shows make it look haha you are more well known just because you ar constantly in pep rallies and in front of the school but you don't nesisarily have more friends, if that makes any sense? Haha and it's a really good thing you are starting to practice now besides flexiablilty work on your cheer motions and being loud and practice yelling and smiling at the same time!!! Hope I helped and good luck :)

Being a cheerleader is really fun you get really close to your team and your create a lot of great memories. when i was in cheer our practice used to be stretch jumps nd kicks nd warm up stunts. i think the most fun you will have would be at cheer camp where you meet other cheerleader from different countys and learn cheers and stunts. i was a flyer and the best thing you could do is eat healthy stretch get good sleep. As far as being popular i kinda wasnt but people knew me because i was on Jv and their only flyer but not all the cheerleaders are popular and their not always mean neither

Stretch daily or at least every second day and that will help heaps. Practices are different, depending on which school you're at, what coach you have and the level your team is :)

Hey! So I'm going into the 7th grade next year, and I think it would be cool to be a cheerleader in high school. So I thought I might as well start practicing. And don't make fun of me! Haha so what are some cheer stunts that only involve one person. The ones that I already know are

* pike

*needle

*scorpian

*toe touch

*heel stretch

*splits

I'm going to take a class but first I would like to get more flexible. I'm pretty close to getting my splits but my back legs always bends. Any advice? So what is It like being a cheerleader, what are you practice like, are u considered popular ( not that I care I'm just wondering from stereotypes) I'm already kinda slender I'm 89 pounds blonde hair blue eyes. What can I do to achieve this? Thank you :)
