How safe is amateur boxing?

I'm worried about broken noses, scar tissue on face, and brain damage.

Ive boxed for 2 years and ive had 16 fights the worst thing thats ever happernd to me is a tooth fell out because i had a **** gumshield you will only get put in with someone the same size as you so it will be fair and its alot of fun and safe there is allways a doctor standing by just incase and remember the bigger you are the bigger your opponent is so try get to bantam or light weight , dont be fighting at heavy weight because they hit hard !

There have been as many ring fatalities in the amateur as in the pros despite the head gear and all. But I noticed there have been less ring-related injuries in the amateurs because of less grappling, clinching and wrestling that are attendant to most pro bouts.

Its pretty mild. Headgear and gloves no smaller than 10 punces. And referees won't let somebody beat you up its not like the pros.

A broken nose is possible but I HIGHLY doubt you will get brain damage from it.

Amateur stuff is alright they dont wanna risk law suits so they do things properly headgear pads gloves etc boxing coach or trainers have to be good with people so just ask them when you go in to check it out

Paint it what way you like.... Your opponent will be throwing punched at your head - Go figure...

keep your hands up and you should be fine.
