it's simple, you eventually become good at something that you love because you do it so often.
it's their passion that drives them to skate every single day and obviously if you skate every day you're bound to learn new stuff. having little goals like trying to land a trick and stuff helps as well. and of course, friends.
you don't have any friends that skateboard? that's easy, go to the skatepark! i'm not being an *** or anything, but seriously, go to a skate park. 99.68921% of skateboarders are actually REALLY friendly. but to start, you could go to talk to the more approachable ones, don't have to be a creep, just ask them whether theey have any tips on ollies or stuff and i guarantee you they'll help. skaters are pretty cool to hang with.
just don't fall into the company of those retards (hope you know what i mean) who like to act rebellious and stuff, and a lot of the skaters also smoke and do drugs hah that's not just a generalization, it's true where i live, so stay away from that kind of stuff.
but the best way to get good is just make more friends at a skate park, then one day you guys will be competing over who can land this trick first and stuff, playing games of skate. these are forms of practice and practice makes perfect, doesn't it? youtube trick tips also help a ton while learning trickss but i suppose you already know that.
I've been skating for about a year and I'm fairly decent now, but everything I can do now I got good at with practice. Practice is the only way you'll get good, you won't progress without putting time into practicing. If you want to learn tricks and don't have friends to help you, I'd suggest looking on the internet.
Usually start with friends who are better or have been skating for a while. They can teach you what to do. After that they head to skate parks, befriend people, and they show each other tricks etc. and then you just keep practicing what you see and get good. And then you can take it further by investigating online for other skating stuff. That is how I would imagine it.
Hey me and my best friend started skateboarding when we were 13! Now were really good and can Ollie 7 steps and heel flip kick flip pressure flip and my friend can tre(I can't get it still lol) but everyday we would skateboard doing an Ollie over and over until we got it right and then until we got it good. We learned how by YouTube videos that teach you. Then we learned to heel flip. Then kick flip and so on it's really fun!
Alot of people, like me, are used to watching it. When I was a little kid, I played EA Skate and watched pros and stuff like that. Most people start from ages around 10-13. I know someone who started when he was like 7. But they just learn from friends, take them to skateparks, meet friends and go to contests and stuff. Eventually they get sponsored for winning contests. They get noticed and they become pros that way, They skate pretty much every day, and in every spot they find. :)
Im just starting to get into skateboarding, and i was just wondering about how really good skateboarders that do tricks, and etc got to that point. Did they take lessons from teachers or other skateboarders, and just went from there or.........?
p.s im JUST starting and have no experience or anyone helping me whatsoever
