How can we throw a really awesome bonfire party?

In England we used to have Guy Fawkes Day on November 5th; this is to celebrate the time when Mr.Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament but failed. So every year as a child we used to make a "guy", (something made up to look like a person and stuffed with straw, like a scarecrow) and then we'd burn it on the bonfire as well as having lots of fireworks. It would be positioned on top of the bonfire with a pole, before it was lit.

Perhaps you could make an effigy of someone, (in good taste), and do the same.

Invite someone who has an acoustic guitar and knows a lot of songs everyone can sing along to.

Baked potatoes, wrapped in foil. Supply fixin's: butter, real bacon bits, chives or green onion, grated cheddar, sour cream, salt, pepper.

Try baked bananas. Split the skin, slice partially through to stuff with some chocolate. Wrap back up in skin and wrap in foil and heat up.

Try bean and cheese burritos, wrapped in foil and heated up.

Roast corn, in foil. Options are to add butter, paprika and red pepper flakes, or to add fresh minced garlic and butter, or butter and Cajun seasoning.

We've thrown a basic bonfire party before with music, hot dogs, and smores. This time we're looking for a way to make it bigger and/or better. I need some ideas. The age range is about 18-20 so no alcohol but still for adults.
