If Rigondeaux was from Puerto Rico ,Mexico ,the UK or any other country where professional boxing isn't condemned ,he would have a much bigger fanbase and would be more in demand if he had his country behind him.
I think its unfair i watched the fight and it was pretty good i felt he did what he had to do to win i thought that donaire looked terrible and he should be getting bad press from the fight not rigo because now he is the man to beat at 122 i never heard of some one taking over a division and then not being able to get a fight thats crazy he should be the person that everyone want to fight now but its politics donaire was suppose to be the new manny but he got taken out before he could reach that status so instead of congratulating rigo they black ball him and just completly ignore that face that he made a top 5 pound for pound fighter look like a novice if i was rigo ill be headed to golden boy i bet mares will fight him and he will be paid really good for his services
Great point about Ward. I actually find spoilers (guys who like to fight inside the clinch) like Ward much more boring than fighters like Rigo. Rigo made a top 5 P4P fighter look like a journeyman.
And people put too much blame on Rigo for the fight being "boring". Although Donaire was coming forward he didn't throw that many punches and when he did decide to exchange Rigo would get the better of him.
And Donaire and Rigo are not guys who just like to stand and bang, they're both counter punchers so I don't know why ppl were expecting Hagler Hearns or some shīt.
And the worst part about it is that Rigo isn't just some light firsted defensive pure boxer, the guy can PUNCH and could get some highlight reel KOs especially if you put him in there with some aggressive guys who like to throw a lot of punches and take chances. Now Rigo is stuck with that parasite Bob Arum who won't do shīt to move his career forward but will work his @$$ off to get Nonito big fights. Reminds me of Jessie Vargas (another Top Rank fighter), beats Josesito Lopez yet Lopez moves on to headlining big main events with stars like Ortiz Canelo and Maidana yet Vargas is still fighting on undercards with guys like Forbes for less money. HBO/Top Rank want to dumb down boxing.
I absolutely agree with you. Rigo seems like he's being punished for dominating the Donaire fight and that's a shame. He boxed beautifully and beat Donaire easily, and he should be rewarded for that, not shunned. Shame on HBO. I mean, I like a good toe to toe slugfest just like the next boxing fan, but I also can appreciate the boxing skills of a fighter like Rigo. He may not be the most exciting fighter out there, but he'a a master at what he does.

It is terrible that HBO and Top Rank will not give this guy fights after he dominated one of the former top P4P fighters. I think if anybody beats a top 10 P4P fighter, they deserve to be on HBO. I don't think it matters if he is very exciting, because there are plenty of fighters on HBO that aren't the most exciting. Guillermo Rigondeaux is definitely something special, and is very talented, and dominated Nonito Donaire, so he should not be treated unfairly like this.

Nonito "Flash" Donarie that would be the pinnacle of his pro boxing career.
For years he called out Nonito Donaire and finally got his chance to grand
stage of them all at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. And everyone
thought that Nonito Donaire would somehow get past Guillermo Rigondeaux
somehow in that fight. That clearly wasn't the case. This reminds me of that
Super 4 Middleweight tournament that Don King conducted back in the early
2000 you see that tournament was tailor made for Felix "Tito" Trinidad to win
it and Bernard Hopkins against all odds dominated and won that tournament
to be crowned the Undisputed Middleweight Champion. Right now Guillermo
is the undisputed Super Bantamweight Champion and is not being rewarded
for his accomplishment. Top Rank should be getting Rigo some "big money"
fights on HBO because Top Rank is now exclusive to HBO only. And Donaire
might be getting a rematch with Vic Darchinyan in October or November. And
I think the best thing to do with Guillermo Rigondeaux at this point is he should
seek arbitration and get out his contract just like Yuriorkis Gamboa did and he
should sign with Top Rank's rival Golden Boy Promotions. I'm sure De La Hoya
would get him some great fights with Abner Mares, Daniel Ponce De Leon and
Anslemo Moreno. Guillermo Rigondeaux is better leaving Top Rank and signing
with Golden Boy Promotions at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Top Rank did
not get him another fight this year. I think his mandatory would be (Interim) WBA

i think rigo has two big strikes against him first his style is hit and not be hit but then so is mayweathers and people watch floyd which brings me to second reason rigo just doesn't have that Xfactor outside the ring he's no broner or tyson fury he doesn't talk crap and just gets on with his boxing .
