Hi :)

For a movie theater feel, line the floor aisle with white Christmas lights.

Movie posters can be purchased from any number of online websites. Check out their clearance section for the best deals. However, often times larger video store chain locations (i.e. Hollywood Video) receive a great many more posters in the mail than they can hang. Speak to the manager about being able to take some that they are going to throw out to make room for newer releases.

Make palm trees from tall halogen lights and coat/hat stands. Cover the poles in brown packing paper for a tree trunk brown color. Fronds can be made from large sheets of construction paper, poster board, or

purchased at wholesale craft stores. With coat/hat stands you can utilize the tips on top to place coconuts.

If the ground is soft on the sides of your ‘red carpet’ (if you’ve created a red carpet on a sidewalk with dirt on both sides) you can pound in wooden dowlings approximately one meter (or more…depending on how many rod dowlings you want to spend and how long your red carpet is) apart from each other. Now you can drape red crepe paper from rod to rod in a movie theater aisle fashion (the posts that make up the line queues in movie theaters.)

Dig out all those white Christmas lights that you have in the attic and create a marquee border around your signs, doors and (if you have enough) along both sides of the your red carpet!

Using white foam core, cut out the letters of HOLLYWOOD. Attach these letters to small posts or spikes and plant them into the ground. This works best if placed someplace high (mimicking the Hollywood

Hills sign) like atop a porch roof, on an upstairs landing showing down, etc.

Movie posters make great front covers for your invitations. The graphic for them can be found by visiting a couple movie poster websites and ‘nabbing’ the image by either right click/cutting and pasting or by right clicking/Save Picture As.

Decorate your homemade invitation like a movie ticket to your favorite movie. You could make the ticket from a well known theater (i.e. AMC) or your could create your own name based on the guest of honor or location of your event. Make the ‘show time’ the starting time of the party. Save a movie stub from your next trip to the movie theater to use as a model. For the edges of the tickets visit your local scrapbooking store for different types of scissors (or ask your local scrapbooking friend ? )You could also instruct your guests to bring their ‘tickets’ so that they can be admitted to the ‘movie’ party you have planned. Of course, make sure someone is at the door to rip their ticket!

If you’ve purchased popcorn bags as part of your decorations or food, use some of the extras as envelopes for your invitations! Simply put your invitation inside and seal shut with tape. This is especially nice when accompanied with the movie ticket invitation idea above.

Food is a hard one. There isn't really "celebrity themed" food. I'm having a celebrity themed party too and I'm just doing a potluck (Yay for being lazy :P)

Games:

Truth or dare (I know it doesn't really fit with the theme, but it's really fun)

Kiss the celebrity, it's kinda like pin the tail on the donkey but the guests have to put on lip-stick and a blind fold and try to kiss a poster of a celebrity, whoever gets closest to the lips wins! (It turns really funny)

Heads up, it's an app you can buy, and there's a celebrity category on it.

American Idol or Xfactor, have all your guests audition to be the winner.

Make a small movie, have all your guests audition and then make a small movie with the best ones.

Have all your guests dress up as celebrities, and give a prize for the best one

I hope this helped, have a fun party :)

my sister is indecisive and I now having a holly wood themed party. for décor we have a few ideas like red carpet down our driveway, photo booth, wall of fame with guests, vip invites, but we haven't got any games that match the theme.. or food except for popcorn. extra points for people with lots of information, maybe other décor ideas, games and food. thankyou so much!
