Help with cheerleading, cartwheels, flexibility, etc.?

Stretch daily. You can do that easily at home. Practice splits especially- It may hurt at first but keep stretching and eventually it wont.

In cheer tumbling will get you points but good jump will usually be worth more on a cheer score sheet for tryouts. Toe touches, pikes, hurlers, herkies are all jumps you should practice. Trampolines and stretching help with this.

As far as tumbling goes go to an open gym or even just look at YouTube tutorials can help. If your any older than like the 3rd grade i would say a roundoff at least is neccesary. For varsity cheer more advanced tumbling would be required.

But really just BE LOUD AND HAVE SPIRIT ! I hope this helped

See if your local gymnastics gym has an open gym night, or you can easily learn things at home. A backbend is the most essential part of tumbling. You can find a wall to practice those on until you're comfortable enough to try it without a wall. For splits and flexibility, you can do wall splits, butterflies, and lunges. You don't have to be scared. It's scary at first, but once you get the hang of everything, you'll love it.

Find a local gymnastics gym that allows "open gym". This will allow you to access mats, coaches, pits, and equipment that will allow you to practice and work on these kinds of things your struggling with. As far as flexibility goes, stretch EVERYDAY. Its the only way to get better at it. I'm sure they will work on all kinds of things with you if you make the team. Fear it an issue with these kinds of things because you have to overcome fear in a sport like cheerleading everyday. If you have a great attitude and have school spirit, then they should take you. good luck!

for flexibility STRETCHING IS KEY. just do it everyday and you'll see results.try having someone you trust spot you doing a cartwheel/roundoff or do it on a cushioned surface. you're just having a mental block, it really isn't scary. for sideline cheering it isn't essential either (but it is an advantage so i'd suggest it).

Me and my buddy were thinking about trying out for cheerleading, but I have to learn some basic skills first. I am very unflexible, and I was wondering if you had strategies on how to change that. I also have never learned how to do a cartwheel or anything like that. all I can do is a front roll(on the ground). Yeah, its sad. I was wondering how I could learn how to do it? people have tried to teach me, but im just really scared. anyone have any tips?? thanks guys!!
