Has Manny Slipped From Being An Elite Fighter?

I am a fan of Manny pacquiao but I am also his worst critic. They are both coming off loses and rios is another margarito. Manny is simply on another level. Pacquiao need to beat timothy bradley or Jaun marquez to be on the elite level not rios.

I think he's slipped all of his Marquez fights were possible losses & with the Bradley fight I think he won but he wasn't as impressive as he's been in the past. Rios will give him a punching bag that doesn't have any head movement & stands right in front of Manny. If Manny hurts him then it will be a great day for manny. If he can't hurt Rios then it will be a big problem for manny cause Rios will just keep coming forward & eventually hit Manny & hurt him. People don't realize before Manny's rise to stardom he was KO'd twice at 112 lbs. The only fighter that hit him solid since his rise to stardom was Marquez & he KO'd him. Would a fight with Mayweather Jr still be good? I think so whether that fight happend in 2014 or back in 2007 floyd would have won either way, if Canello couldn't hit Floyd there is no way that Manny could!!!

We will find out when he fights at the weekend. I don't think that the has slipped from being an elite fighter. I think that many people just don't realize how good Marquez and Bradley are. The Bradley fight was a hotly contested decision anyway. Pacquiao has probably got more left in the tank than Marquez does overall.

Absolutely Manny slipped cause he relied too much on his athleticism rather than boxing ability and fundementals.

Manny in his heyday was one of the most athletic and fastest guys around, his secret was his mobility, he was an offensive fighter who used his legs for defense rather than a more conventional method like Roy Jones or Terry Norris did. They rely too much on speed and athleticism

So once their speed diminishes (which is the first to go) they become a diffrent fighter cause they dont have their fundementals to fall back on. Unlike B Hop, Mayweather, Mike McCullum or James Toney some of them were great athletes but never relied on that alone, they dovoloped the boxing ability and technique to go with their talents. Technicians age much better than athletes cause speed and reflexes diminish faster than skills.

That's what we'll find out this weekend

With 2 - 4 less than impressive recent showings against top calibre opponents, has Manny slipped? With Bradley, Marquez twice, and Mosley, he isn't the typhoon he was in 2008 and 09. Is still in the class of Floyd Mayweather Jr and Andre Ward or has he deteriorated too much?
