what a lot of people do when there coach says do it on your own is they then mess it up so get you coach to stand out the way and step in to help you if it goes wrong then they arnt right next to you but can step in if you need help or do it into the pit or on tummble track without a spot for more confidence
When i learned my roundoff handspring tuck, i first did one with a spot. Then i had my coach just stand there, so it gave me some reassurance and motivation, and i did it all by myself.
I used to be the same way! What I did was close my eyes and pretend my coach was beside me. If that doesn't work, just let your mind wander & before you can even think about, do it.
Tell yourself your doing a high flick
Hi, I am 15 years old and I have been doing gymnastics from a young age but never been good enough for squad as splits weren't good enough and stuff..
I have just learned how to do round off flick tuck back on the trampoline, I can do round off flick easy on the floor but don't have the confidence to do it without my coach standing there even though he doesn't even help me. I guess I just feel scared..
I can't do it without him, but can't progress if I don't have the balls to do it. How can I help myself?
Thanks
