Lennox Lewis I would take on this. Yes Cooney was a big puncher especially with the left hook. However overall Lewis was more consistent and just more complete. The Lewis of the late 90s was an all time bottom top 10 heavyweight. I would give Cooney a punchers chance but that is even a stretch. Lewis would take him to school dominate and stop him in the late rounds similar to what Holmes did to him. Cooney did not fight a bad fight against Holmes. I do not think he was ready and was outclassed and overmatched. The best Lewis beats the best Cooney.

Even though Lewis was the better fighter, Cooney has a great hook and if he hit Lewis, then Lewis would be out cold.

I give Lewis the edge, but Cooney has a chance.

Lewis was too smart a fighter for Gooney, very similar to the Holmes vs. Cooney fight. Lewis wins by a tko stoppage in 8

Lewis wins because of superior boxing skills. Cooney hit hard, but that was about all there was to him. Holmes outboxed him, while Foreman simply annihilated him.
