Froch vs Kessler II - The Verdict? Ward Next?

I agree it was a great fight. It was great to watch Kessler work Carl's tactics out and start turning the fight. The only problem was, when Carl upped the pace, Kessler couldn't respond and that's what cost him.

I disagree that Ward is dodging Froch. Ward has no reason to duck Froch after he easily beat him in their last fight. What Ward is dodging is fighting outside his home country where he enjoys all the home advantages.

Other than Ward, I think Carl may rematch the winner of Pascal vs Bute. If Bute wins, he still has the rematch clause to activate from his fight with Froch. Carl would have no problem going to Canada and a fight in Canada against the winner would generate a massive amount of money.

He could fight Hopkins in England. That fight would be one the public would want to see and would be a big pay day for both boxers in the UK.

Froch vs Kessler 3 would be a big hit with the public and would be a deciding fight between the pair. Froch has stated that it would have to be on neutral ground as both of them have had one home fight. Where ever it took place it would sell out as people know it would be an amazing fight like the first two were.

Chad Dawson would be another big fight for Froch, against currently the best boxer at Light Heavyweight. If Froch has the ambition to be a two weight world champion then Dawson would be the biggest fight for him.

Other than that, if Groves, Degale, Bellew or Cleverly have a big fight and win a world title in the next year or two, then they could become a legitimate option for Froch.

Yeah you're right, great fight and credit to both warriors but Froch was a clear winner this time IMO, I had it 8-3 and 1 round even and yeah, Kessler took his time adjusting to Froch's tactics early on.

I didn't see the post-fight interview with Andre Ward so I'll have to look for it soon but I don't agree that he is dodging Froch by saying the fight would have to be in the US. Ward is the best Super Middleweight in the world, he's already beaten Froch and IMO it was quite convincing too. Froch does have this new fire in his belly though, he's attacking his opponents more and forcing them back, he's looked superb in all 3 fights since his loss to Andre Ward in the Super Six Final and so I would expect we would see a much different contest in a rematch.

But does Ward need Froch? No. Will Ward outclass Froch again? Probably yes I think, and will he get more money fighting in the USA? Yes.

So it doesn't surprise me Ward would only take the fight in the USA and he's more than entitled to lay those terms down. Froch should just be grateful that Ward is even paying attention to talk of a rematch and needs to go abroad & unify those titles. If he can only perform in front of his own fans then that's too bad

Froch vs B-Hop is what I want to see next.

Hopkins has already said he'd go to the UK for a fight w/ either Froch or Cleverly. Froch said he'd want a catchweight, and B-Hop has fought Pavlik/Winky Wright at catchweights (like 171lb), so it should'nt be an issue.

I don't care to see Ward fight Froch again, it serves no purpose IMO.

SOG owned Froch (and Kessler) when they fought, and it wasn't entertaining. So what is the point of having a rematch? When the argument for a rematch w/ Froch is that "there's nothing else out there", you know people are reaching.

Froch is my boy and I like him a lot. Fact is though, a fight w/ Ward could take place on Mars and the outcome would still be the same. SOG is simply better, the dude schooled Froch w/ basically one hand, which people always seem to forget.

Ward isnt dodging Froch, fighting him serves no purpose. Froch wasnt even close to a challenge, and more importantly FROCH knows he has no hope of beating Ward. If you watch the post fight after Froch\Ward, Froch did nothing but acknowledge how much better Ward is than him.

Ward is looking to put himself in the HOF, which he isnt going to do repeating his record over and over. That eliminates both Froch and Kessler.

It doesnt pay to clear out your division so quickly. There are fights for him to take, he just has to take the time to get them.

Regarding Froch, like the guy, hes getting old though. Maybe HE should consider taking a last glory fight. Maybe someone Ward just dropped recently? :)

Great fight i thought froch would stop kessler after watching the first couple of rounds but glad he didn't kessler showed heart and made a fight of it great left hook rocked froch badly in 11th got to be ward next i think froch would need to ko him to win but ward has been hurt before so he could do it hope he does.

kessler would have won 9/10 but in this fight froch somehow managed to do it...prob with insane preparation....kessler would win a rematch and froch aint going anywhere...he will lose to hopkins...lose to ward....lose to kessler 3....he should now retire and preserve his record which isnt bad.

Great boxing match I thought, not as exciting as their last though. Froch's jab early on was just too much for Kessler, and he took too long to adjust.

I think It wasn't as exciting because when Froch gets hurt, he tends to come firing straight back through the big punch he just got hit with, and Kessler simply wasn't landing enough great shots. But dayum that left hook is insane.

Ward Next? Ward was interviewed after, but I think he's almost dodging Carl, saying he has to come to America to fight.

Other than Ward, who's left?

What did you think?
