What kind of foods at a 14 year olds party?

Please be specific

I have a 14 year old daughter and when her friends come over they actually like to prepare their own food. So maybe a build your own pizza party. Or a quesadilla party. Maybe a nacho bar. Also if they are girls they may be starting to eat healthier at this point so be sure you have lemonade or bottled waters instead of sodas. Sorry, if they are boys, then I have no idea! Only had girls. Have fun!

Fajitas or tacos..allows people to make their own style if you set it up with options from beef, chicken, veggies etc.

Several different types of a quality pizza.

Fruit Salad.

Various types of cupcakes or an ice cream cake.

Little sandwiches and chips.

Make a non alcoholic sangria or a punch, have bottled water.

Do some little appetizers that they may like such as deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms, little meatballs...

this can help you decide what kind of foods you can have at your party.

American style party? Junk foods and drinks in red cups.

High tea? Tiny cupcakes, cookies, sandwiches, and lots and lots of tea.

Japanese party? Delicious Japanese Snacks (NO SUSHI!!)

Try for something new.....maybe healthy sweet potato fries recipe, egg sandwich can be good options

Ingredients for Sweet Potato Fries:

Sweet Potato – 500 gm

Olive Oil – 250 ml

Black Pepper (fresh ground) – 1 teaspoon

Salt – to taste

Black-pepper-salt

FRESH GROUND BLACK PEPPER AND SALT



Method:

1. Peel sweet potatoes and cut them into fries. Wash it under running water.

2. Boil the water in sauce pan and take it off the flame. Add 2 teaspoon of salt and put the cut sweet potato pieces into the hot salted water. Keep it there for about 1 hour. This process is important to make crispy fries.

3. Drain the water and let sweet potato pieces dry on tissue paper or towel.

4. Heat Olive Oil on pan to about 180 degree Celsius.

5. Now put the pieces and deep fry them on Medium to high flame for about 15 minutes or till golden brown and crispy.

6. Take out the ready fries and drain excess oil using tissue paper.

7. Sprinkle freshly grounded black pepper and salt.

8. Shake it and serve them in bowl.

Tips:

? Oil Temperature should never cross 200 degree Celsius as Olive Oil has smoke point of about 220 degree Celsius and heating it beyond 220 degree Celsius will lead to free radical formation and oil becomes unhealthy.

? The process of keeping sweet potato fries in salted hot water is very important step to have crispy and evenly cooked fries. So do not bypass this step.

? I always prefer fresh ground pepper to powdered ones available in market as freshly grounded ones have much better flavour and seasoning effect than the powdered ones.

It has high amount of Vitamin B6 and Potassium which is good for your Heart.

Very high in Beta Carotene, Vitamin E and Vitamin C – all these offer very good antioxidant properties.

It is very good source of Manganese too.
