This is actually a very close match up that could go either way, I think Floyd would have trouble with the reach but Breland lacked the crushing power of say Hearns, Brelands power was good but not great, so Mayweather would have more than just a chance against Mark. You have to figure that if Marlon Starling could stop Breland, Floyd could as well so I have Floyd the slight favorite and Breland a live underdog, but man this one was a tough call.
That would be an interesting.. Breland was a terrific amateur but I just wasn't that high on him as a pro. That being said, I think this is a fight in which Floyd would have to be the aggressor because I believe Breland would just try to use his height and reach advantages to box Floyd from the outside and keep him at bay with the jab. Breland would have some early success but Floyd would eventually figure him out and take control around the 4th round or so and win a wide UD.
I go with Mayweather, I remember well that 1984 Olympic USA class that Breland came from.... I think a better matchup would be a pre-Chavez Meldrick Taylor-Floyd Mayweather fight. But this one could turn out to be a good one also.
i keep telling you all.....only the loser/erractic khan has the style to beat/seriously test mayweather....and i mean seriously...styles make fights and his speed against a soon to be 37 mayweather will or should close the show.
A young/peak mayweather beats mark.
little v large @welter weight could breland use his 6'2 frame to keep floyd at bay
