1. Make a list of interesting points, anecdotes, colleagues you might want to mention
2. work these into a short talk, which is witty, informal and personal
3. inject a bit of humour and just be you.
4. decide what you actually want to project, or say, farewell, thank you, enjoyed the experience, keep in touch, whatever
5. put a time on your speech and stick to it, less is more, then you are remembered for all the right reasons, your wit, brevity, personality.
6. remember this is your chance to say farewell, adieu, in your own personal way, hope it goes well.
Posting a smile to get you started and good luck.
, "Parting is such sweet sorrow" Shakespeare---- I would recommend, listing the positive, and inspiring moments in your career---and learning experiences--you can add a little humour, if it is in good taste---Then you can indicate whom to thank for your professional and personal colleagues, I would recommend making a list, as not to exclude anyone---Include the wonderful memory's, and polite challenges, and how you overcame the challenges--Then end with the many memorys, and experiences that you shall treasure----Wind it up with the anticipation of going home to your own Country, as a better person---be sincere, respectful, avoid any negativity, or political, religious, opinions, and keep it short---if you end up weeping, it is acceptable--it just shows, you are human
I am leaving a place I had been working for the past 7+ years. As I am not original from the country. I am going back to my original country. Then this is highly possibly a farewell. And going to be very emotional , least for me. I hope anyone can give me a short of direction how my leaving party speech should sound like ? Even the steucture of the speech would be great help. Thanks.
