Do you consider cheer-leading a sport?

Do you consider cheer-leading a sport? If no, explain why not. Thanks!

Nahh, no offense to any cheerleaders. I consider it more of an activity. Don't get me wrong it can be hard to remember sooo many cheers and have to sing the song and dance all those different dance moves but besides flexibility I don't see that it can be even moderately hard on your body. Unless you are talking about HARD CORE cheerleading that involves tons of conditioning (which I have never witnessed in my life). Nothing against cheerleaders but that's my opinion. (:

Yes I consider it a sport. In fact it should be qualified as a sport since it reaches all requirements. The reason it is not considered a sport is because it's purpose to CHEER FOR A SPORT! Sports shouldn't cheer for other sports. If that doesn't make much sense here is a website:

Hope I helped! :)

Depends on the type! Sideline football or basketball cheer i would say no. Its not nearly as physically demanging as a sport should be. On the other hand, competition cheer is defenitly a sport!! Its physically demanding, mentally demanding, theres competitions, scores, & scholarships just like football, soccer, ect. & no im not bias. I did sideline cheer for 13 years & competition for 3!

I do due to anything to do with gym is a sport to me nd people say its the most dangerous sport

no because people think chucking people in the air is nothing playing football is aswell that you have to go against a team with a ball or puck so some dont count figure skating, horse riding nd even gymnastics

i would say its a sport, but a border-line sport. i know cheerleaders train really hard and it takes a lot to be one but i don't think its as much of a sport as someething like football or basketball or track.

I think it is it takes a lot of planning and coordination as well as physical strength and endurance.

psh duhhhhhh
