This is my order in a day:
Breakfast
Brunch
Lunch
Supper
Snack
and then sleep :)
Same here James. I have always heard that most folks in the South say supper for the last meal of the day. Dinner is eaten at noon.
When we have Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, it is always in the middle of the day.
I always thought that folks around here who said dinner for supper, were just trying to get citified or uppity! LOL
Dinner
Dinner is usually the largest meal of the day.
Supper is an evening meal, usually informal.
They are both used a lot, I personally say dinner 95% of the time but occasionally I will say supper
My 86 year old Grandma calls lunch dinner and dinner supper, so yeah, it's pretty typical.
dinner
dinner
both are still used
When I was growing up, we used to call the last meal of the day Supper. Do people still call the last meal of the day Supper? Or does everyone refer to the last meal as Dinner?
