Yes Kyle there is a section where they answer skateboard questions. Yahoo Answers category (Sports) then click onto (Other). Lots of experts on skateboards there.
You may, however soaking them in any citrus cleaner then greasing them fixes that problem for me. Try buying all weather bearings next time.
dirt maybe
rust would not freeze them
water could carry dirt inside the bearings better, possibly
spinning with your hands doesn;t really count
really riding them would grind the dirt up and you would never notice
what other choice is there?
just saying
hand spinning is not a valid test
maybe dirt was in there
but so what
if you can ride it, that will kill the rest of the dirt
wle
That is not a cycling question.
So I have an Ultimate Frisbee class off campus, and it was raining. The only way to get to that class is to walk, bike, or board. So naturally, I took my board so I didn't have to walk.
The deck is fine. It's not waterlogged at all. It's a Sector 9 board (not sure of the name, but the graphic is a huge wave and a cliff).
I'm using Gull Wino 50? trucks.
Race Formula Sector 9 Wheels. 70MM, 82A.
I'm not sure what bearings I'm using.
So anyways. The board rode fine in the rain. The next day however, the wheels locked up a few times (especially when I just spun them with my hands).
What should I do? Is it rust? Sand and dirt?
Do I need new bearings? If so, what kind are good?
Thank you,
Kyle.
