I haven't watched the holyfield-tyson fight but I remember watching it and being astonished how Holyfield changed his style when he butted Tyson.
For the first half of the fight Holyfield was mauling, pushing, and keeping Tyson at distance. But I noticed at the 6th or 7th round that Holyfield changed his style and was going in swinging with his head all over the place. The head butt was intentional, but intentional in Holyfield's way.
Evander is a top notch guy and competitor but he racked up many many head butts throughout his career, not just in the Tyson fight but others. It was ingrained in his style, to lean in like that, much like Andre Ward today and also Timothy Bradley. In response to your question, yes I do think Holyfield, and Ward, get away with repeated head butts.
He still had the heart of a Lion(due to HGH use lol) and under rated skills and power. Great champion but a head butter for sure!
PS. Tyson should have head butted him back. Biting was the wrong move and totally unjustifiable.
Holyfield was the fans favorite. Brought the biggest draw, back then, and even now those guys I don't think get tested for enhancers. Holyfield , and Hopkins are worst head butters, I ever seen. I also seen Holyfield's head grow in his career. I think it's a safe bet he was on some kind of enhancer. I would even throw Pacquiao in that mix of HGH users.
There have always been cheaters and many of the best today are cheaters. Mayweather constantly hits opponents with his elbow, as did Tyson. Cotto has hit several men below the belt. The Klitschkos have constantly held opponents head down like Mac Baer used to do.

Yes he did. Him, Roy Jones and Shane Molsey. Thats very unfortunate since Im a huge fan of Mosley and try to forget that at times but its true they all got away with it.

Nope, it is all part of the game. Headbutts, elbows, low blows, kidney punches, rabbit punches etc. I didn't hear Tyson complaining about being headbutted.

I think everyone looked at Mike Tyson as crazy but if you watch Holyfield Tyson 1 it looked like Tyson was winning until Holyfield repeatedly head butted Tyson one of the Head butts buckled Tyson and after that one Holyfield took control, if you look at the fighters Evander struggled with it was all taller fighters like Ridick Bowe and Lenix Lewis fighters taller than him making it harder to headbutt them, i mean his fight with Rockmon saw maybe the worst swelling in any fight ever due to a Holyfield head butt, but people act like Tyson bit him because he knew he couldint win lol No he bit him cause Holyfield was head butting him again and again the Ref was doing nothing about it lol
