Cotto vs Delahoya at prime 140: who wins?

De La Hoya would win with a late stoppage.

Cotto never had the lateral movement or solid jab to win.

De La Hoya would have spun him all night, jabbed him, with quick one-two's possibly setting up the famous left hook.

Cotto would probably tag Oscar a few times but Oscar was known to have a solid chin. Most of his knockdowns were flash knockdowns.

It would be a good fight but Oscar would win late.

I think Oscar was at his strongest peak at 140 lbs. just before he climbed up to the welters where he was not beaten until he faced Trinidad and Mosley and lost by controversial decisions Although Cotto was also undefeated at 140 lbs. he never faced the type of challenge that ODLH faced in his limited stint at 140 lbs. With the possible exception of the tough Ricardo Torres and the flamboyant Paulie Malignaggi, Cotto was fighting mostly so-called B-side foes as Corley, Pinto, Bailey Maussa, NDou..Given that I think De la Hoya would have took full advantage of his size and reach advantage and his more boxing and fighting versatile style and technique to neutralize Cotto's prodigious power and strength at that level and pound out a business-like 12 round UD.

Cotto's struggles with knockouts began at 140. Up to that point he was clearing out whoever he fought. I think he is the perfect example of power not transferring with weight.

DLH was at his best at 140. Ive never given him credit for being an excellent athlete and being able to go the distance, but I truly think he would punish and ultimately CRUSH Cotto at 140. Cotto became a bit more defensive and elusive at 147, so he may make it a bit more difficult for Cotto at that weight, but nonetheless DLH would win.

DLH, knockout in 8th round.

Cotto is a great fighter and may have presented a challenge to Oscar, but the Golden Boy in his prime was a taller, rangy fighter who could move, scrap, and hit with accuracy. I envision a fight much like the Austin Trout fight, but with Oscar hitting Miguel with more meaningful shots. Oscar by clear UD or late round stoppage.

ODLH beats Cotto at all weights

He`s a different class of fighter.He'd out-box him,out-punch him,and at 140 he`d stop him

DLH would stop Cotto at 140lb.

He never got knocked out, but Cotto would get hurt and knocked down a lot at junior-welter. DLH would be able to put him away I think.

Delehoya

Hoya pts

De La Hoya easily... And all weights.
