Candy Buffet for Boy Baby shower... HELP?

Posted at: 2015-04-20
My friend had a candy bar at his wedding and it was a huge success. At my baby shower I had a mini dessert bar. Everything at the dessert bar was mini. I had mini cupcakes, mini brownies, mini cakes and mini cookies. Everything was baked by husbands aunt. If I thought about a candy bar, I would of done it. You can buy fancy clear vases or dishes at the dollar store and fill it up with candy. Stick with a few popular candy that way nothing is left over. Such as Reese's cups, mini Hershey bars, Hershey kisses, m&ms, gummy bears, jelly beans or lollipops. You can have your guests put their candy into clear candy bags or those takeout Chinese boxes that you can find at a craft store. Candy is an investment but like I said stick with a few and that people like. Or you can do what I did and do a mini dessert bar and have your guests put their mini desserts in those Chinese takeout boxes. You can bake everything and just buy mini molds to make the desserts. You can frost the mini cupcakes and brownies with blur or pink frosting. On the brownies you write the name of your future baby with edible frosting pens. You can make chocolate covered apples and do the same! Congrats!!

Skip it.

Do you really want all that candy leftover that won't be edible? People will use their hands & fingers to pick up the candy, even if you provide spoons or tongs.

I'd order some personalized M&Ms in 2 or 3 colors that you like or will be having at the shower. Skip their offers/ideas of tins & make your own. Use netting tied with ribbon, writing a Thanks for coming to my baby shower on it. Go to the dollar store & find cute little jars or tins to fill. Decorate the lids and/or the jar or tin.

Buy some Hershey's kisses & Hershey's Hugs. Type out on the computer's notepad or MS Word program A hug & kiss from us in thanks for coming. Or something similar. You could put 2 of each in the netting & tie with a ribbon. Attach the saying to the ribbon using a hole punch in a cute cutout. Add baby confetti from Wal Mart or other craft store.

The Dollar Tree where everything is a dollar. Who is this shower for? I can't even imagine a 'cute candy buffet/bar. Ugh!

Ok so here is the deal I want a cute candy buffet at my baby shower but I don't know if it will be worth it.... money wise.. I will only have maybe 10 to 20 people total at the shower maybe less who knows and so far everywhere I have looked is high prices... So can anyone give me some advice on either ways to make a candy buffet/bar cheap... or other cute ideas!!! thanks a million
