Can an untrained person defeat a fully trained boxer?

One punch can end a fight, seen many times. However you have to ask yourself, if you went down to the local athletic track and competed against a 100m runner, a discus thrower, a 1500m runner, who trains 3 times a week in their respective discipline on what sort of basis would an untrained person(s) have against a trained individual, 9/10 probably none, however if that person is highly skilled in that discipline despite having no training( Natural gifted) which is probably unlikely.

If I were a betting man in any sport I'd put it on the trained individual but in a combat sport it is possible for the outcome to be changed with 1 lucky punch.

On averages, No. If you were say 8 feet tall and 600lb of pure muscle, it might make a difference. If you have had no training in boxing or any other combat sport, espetailly if you are refering to a professional fighter, they would kick your butt

i think so training sometimes dont mean a thing and some people are naturally better than others

who would seriously want to try it speaks for itself if you can handle yourself without training you know how much better he must be

Hey there ;3

It's a question which sort of came to mind rather recently and thankfully I've remembered to ask of it on here; but I've been thinking, could a person who's not been trained in boxing stand toe-to-toe with a fully trained and experienced boxer, i.e. in their respected weight divisions.

But the stipulations would be that the fight would have to be one-on-one and still based on rules and regulations, so on and so forth.

But saying all that; would it really be impossible for someone so experienced to lose against someone who isn't that experienced at all?
