Can Americans not take it when there fighters lose?

I don't hear or read any American fan complaints in the media involving those fights you mentioned. The fact that American fighters could lose right in their backyard says a lot about American sense.of fair play. Even if fights that they win at home or abroad, American fighters have also been apt for criticism if the fans feel that they under-performed or are not deserving Remember the Elorde-Saddler fight? Or the Pacquiao-Bradley 1? Even Muhammad Ali to these days is being continuously although unfairly ripped for his near KO/TKO loss to Henry Cooper.

If there's a more vociferous, avidly partisan sports fans, it's the British.

Am not an American, but I think your generalized conclusion masquerading as a question is fallacious.

The problem with American fans is they only watch fighters from North America and never from Europe unless they're brought over by HBO. So they automatically think the European fighters are trash and nothing compared to the hype jobs such as Porter. BTW I am American

I would like to think that five fights don't dictate the entire history of Boxing relations between American fighters and UK fighters. Ironically I remember watching the likes of Lennox Lewis beat countless American fighters and nobody said anything.

American fight fans can be very critical, almost overly critical at times, and to someone on the outside it might look like they're making excuses or degrading certain fighters where in reality they just want to express an opinion.

I don't dislike America - actually i like some things about them and hate others...but overall gotta say they are not used to losing. It's not just boxing...take a look at their wars: in their words they didnt lose Vietnam they simply "withdrew" from it - and they didn't lose the dominance of the HW division - the hw division "got boring"...i mean yeah... lame excuses about that are self-explaining.

for example i am from eastern europe and see how the HW boxing is currently dominated by eastern europeans but back in the days i was even MORE interested in boxing when the names were Mike Tyson, Lennox, Holyfield etc. - just british and american names.

I haven't anyone making excuses about last night. Brook should courage to endure the early assault by Porter and once he figured him out made adjustments, showed Porter's inability to change his game. Brook won fair and square in America. ..kudos to him.

They always make excuses when a brit beat there fighters or just european fighter overall.

Example of Excuses they make:

Lloyd Honeyghan vs Don Curry - Curry wasn't in his prime.

Joe Calzaghe vs Jeff Lacy - Lacy was overrated even tho they hyped him up to be the next big thing.

Joe Calzaghe vs Bernard Hopkin - Hopkins was past his prime.

Kell Brook vs Shawn Porter - I have already seen some people say porter wasn't good anyway.

Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield - Holyfield was past his prime even tho he was rated top 5 p4p.
