Floyd mayweather is a great fighter while broner is not mentally ready for the elite.
People hate on Floyd mayweather because he is winning. While people hate on broner because of his personality.
If you become offended by this comment then you fall into that category.
He only has himself to blame with all those comparisons and trying to be a carbon copy of Floyd. With a fighter as hyped up as Broner, we sometimes forget the fact that he was largely unproven coming into this fight even if he was riding a bit of a wave having beaten Paulie and those other tomato cans.
It says a lot about boxing fans when a guy like this is able to talk himself up into the top pound for pound rankings of many, command a higher paycheck than most and act like a superstar without first proving himself.
Sometimes this can also give an advantage in the ring with opponents giving him too much respect and not following the gameplan. Maidana had no problems tonight, he showed no respect for Broner's hype and used all his experience and tactics to embarrass Broner in the ring. Broner even made Maidana look like a sharpshooter in there tonight lol.
Can't even explain how happy I am that clown got beat to reality. He was never the future of boxing and Maidana I KNEW would take his head off. 90% of fans said Broner would win easily, where are they now? Broner was hype from the start. His stock is ruined.
The only reason there were comparisons was because of their similar stance and both being trash talkers. I have to admit, this kind of sucks. Boxing has all these young rising stars but they all turn out to be hype jobs (Canelo, Matthysse, Broner, Berto) and aren't even as good as the B-level fighters of the previous generation.
Is there even one legitimate rising star who is supremely talented? The next era of boxing will feature talentless fighters. What a shame.

If Mayweather fights greats outside of Golden Boy i think his fans will also be surprised.
Miguel Cotto got destroyed by several Bob Arum fighters yet he has done good against the very best in Golden Boy.
He will never reach the status of Floyd. I will beylt you that Broner will just repeat what Berto is currently doing. Won't be surprised if Floyd just drops him.
I can't believe people were hyping Broner so heavily. The fact that he was ranked pound for pound and was drawing comparisons to Floyd, is utterly ridiculous.
The guy has never demonstrated the kind of skills his fanboys claimed. He's always been stationary, easy to hit, and becomes frustrated and freezes up when he's tagged. He had no answers for Maidana tonight, all he could do was appeal to the ref in hopes that he'd somehow bail him out. I'm a little surprised that Maidana was the guy to expose him, I thought it might take someone like Ruslan, Matthysse or Danny Garcia to do it, but either way, you could see this result coming sooner or later.
Hopefully now people will realize that talking a lot of smack and cherry picking opponents doesn't make you "skilled" or pound for pound.
