It will be a compeitive fight because Angulo will look for a early knockout. He was able to floor Erislandy Lara two times. Many people thought it was headed to a draw before the stoppage. This may be a upset because Canelo never fought anyone as big or strong as Perro. However, he is the more accurate puncher. March 8 will tell us alot about Canelo as a fighter.
Saul alveraz will be a star if he was to lose but he can't afford to lose his biggest fights. Many of his fans is expecting him to win.
I'm going with Saul alveraz by decision but Angulo is a live underdog. I hope he live up to the hype because Angulo is not a easy opponent.
BTW: It's a 50-50 fight in my opinion.
I think Angulo is an opponent similar to what Rios was to Pac, except a bit more difficult considering Rios was tailor made for Pac.
Perro is a legit fighter, and most definitely dangerous, but style wise he's someone that Canelo should handle without a whole lot of trouble and look good against.
BQ: No. Canelo is a star in Mexico, win or lose. He'd have to go on a bad streak or really fall off to lose popularity.
Angulo will trouble him early with big shots but Canelo should be able to weather the storm and Handle him over the course of the fight. Finally the time has come where Saul is in a competitive fight AND the guy with more experience fighting better fighters.
We saw in the trout fight his improved defense as well as movement, both offensive and defensive as well as being able to choose when to exchange and when not to. This should come in handy against a powerful puncher like El Perro who will try to lure him in so he can hurt him with a big shot. I can't see any other way for Angulo to try and beat him other than walking him down and throwing bombs. There's a big threat of that but Canelo should be able to outbox him easily and stay one step ahead of him, even in the latter rounds when they will both gas out.
Canelo by ud in an entertaining fight.
BQ: Canelo is an established star, he'll lose some points if he loses but still be a draw.
Yes the odds are in Ginger's favour. If it goes to the cards Angulo will lose by robbery, unless he pulls off a 2 knock down performance like Maidana did. If this was a totally fair fight and the judges weren't in Goldenboy's pocket I'd say this fight would be near 50/50 Has Canelo ever fought a legit 154 pounder except Austin Trout? We all saw the skullduggery needed for Canelo to pull it out. Also Lara is a far better boxer than Canelo and he got hands put on him and seriously hurt. I'm really looking forward to this fight. Calling it now: Angulo TKO round 10.
Angulo is dangerous so he should not he taken lightly at all. But his style isn't tailor made but plays perfect for Canelo because he's a boxer puncher with counter punching ability. Though I say angulo isn't tailor made because he was able to drop lara and puts tons of pressure something canelo hasn't faced from a slugger like him
maybe
Bonus: Is Canelo through as a star if he loses?
