Cruiserweight: Johnny Nelson
Light Heavyweight: Ezzard Charles
Super middleweight: Nigel Benn
Middleweight: Carlos Monzon
Jnr Middleweight: Canelo Alvarez
Welterweight: Andre Berto
Light Welterweight: Juan Manuel Marquez
Lightweight: Alexis Arguello
Heavyweight: Walcott
Cruiserweight: Nelson
Light Heavyweight: Charles
Super Middleweight: Benn
Middleweight: Hagler
Light Middleweight: As much as I love Bomber, Canelo has achieved more
Welterweight: Snr
Light Welterweight: Marquez
Lightweight: Arguello
HW: Walcott (his footwork alone stands out, but Morrison would've destroyed him, because Walcott was a light heavyweight to cruiserweight)
CW: Both are unknown, I am not even sure that they exist.
LH: I go with Spinks, because Archie Moore said he was better and Archie knows more about boxing than I do
SM: Nigel Benn, he was such a beast in the ring that he was able to beat Gerald McClellan retarded. It's a sad story, but it showed how hard Nigel could hit and how fit he was, because McClellan was a monster in the ring.
M: Toughest one here. I rate Monzon slightly higher, because he won more fights. It's the only way to take someone out of those two. But if they would've fought against each other prime for prime, I'm not sure who would've won.
The rest here is subjective, because I don't know them enough to rate them:
Jnr. M: Canelo
W: Mayweather Snr.
LW: Taylor
L: Arguello
HW: Jersey Joe
CW: Tough...gonna go w/ Huck.
LHW: Ezzard Charles mos def.
SMW: SOG
MW: Marin Hagler
JMW: At the end of the day I think Canelo will have the greater resume/talent.
WW: Berto. SR lost all of his big fights, and even though I think Berto isn't very good he's got some solid wins.
JWW: Gonna go w/ JMM
LW: Alexis Arguello
HW---Walcott was able to fend off and battle on even terms still prime Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano for most of their 15 round bouts losing only in the later round. He also was competitive against contemporary Ezzard Charles in long winded fights, even knocking him out in the last of their series. Those are three of the best heavyweights in history. I think Walcott would have been troubled and threatened by Morrison in the opening rounds but he would survive those scary moments and go on to rally by the middle rounds to beat Tommy by close but unanimous decision.
Cruiserweight----I don't know Nelson so I would go with the more known Huck to win this matchup.
Light Heavyweight----Charles campaigned in this division en route to trhe heavyweight championship and fought and mostly beat some of the best light heavyweights of his time and all time as Charley Burley, Archie Moore, Jimmy Bivins, Lloyd Marshall. Spinks on the other hand did not really have stiff competition at 175 outside of Dwight Mauhmmad Qawi Braxton. He was virtually unchallenged. I would go with Charles to beat Spinks by UD 15 in a competitive fight.
Super Middleweights----Ward would have been too good for Benn style wise and skills wise. Ward by UD 12.
Middleweights-----Hagler fought only one way--forward while Monzon was a classic master boxer-puncher who cannot only knockout less tougher opponents but bruise, cut up and bloody equally tough foes.on the way to posting decision wins. I will go with Monzon on this one by hard fought UD 12.
Jr. Middleweight----Definitely Canelo Alvarez wins this matchup by decision or late round KO/TKO.
Welterweights---- Floyd sr, had been up against real solid opposition in his days losing three fights to eventual world champions Sugar Ray Leonard and Marlon Magic Man Starling by decisions. Berto projected himself as a solid fighter and champion at 147 until Victor Ortiz unmasked him and Robert Guerrero manhandled him. I am going for Floyd Sr. on this one by decision, prime for prime.
Jr. Welterweight----- Pernell had somewhat seen and fought the type of JMM back when he was still at lightweight in Azumah Nelson , Jose Luis Ramirez, Jorge Paez. In a fight between master defensive boxers/counter-punchers, I have to go with the one with better ring generalship, speed, movement, mobility and punching accuracy and that's Pernell. Pernell by easy 12 round UD.
Lightweight----Arguello was never defeated from featherweights through the lightweights despite the proliferation of solid, tough fighters at 126-135 lbs. His list of victims constitute a who's who in the 70s and early 80s. Like Duran before him,Arguello had the ability to adjust to his opponent's style and kind of fighting and beat him at that. Arguello liked his foes tough, courageous and rugged, which challenged him more to up his game. I can see Arguello fighting Buchanan on even terms in the opening rounds before softening him up with hard body punching and knocking him out in the later rounds.
