Gone with Alex Ariza and his secret "natural" concoctions some would say.
But Pacquiao was really only a one-hit KO artist at the lower weights. In the higher weights, he relied more on his speed and combination volume punching.
His one-punch KO of Hatton was more due tof Ricky's ineptness and stupidity of getting inside the range of Pacquiao's lethal left hook with very a poor defense..
Its never gone my friend. Hmmm, let's see some of his opponents in the last five years. This year Pac re matched with Bradley. Tim ofcourse cant be kayoed. But finally he dropped his O courtesy of Pac. I guess that's more that a KO win. 2013 - Rios had never hit the canvass in his entire career. Its just reasonable of Pac, who just came out of a long lay off after a knock out loss, to not stop Bambam. 2012 - JMM, by golly! Tell me who on earth would knock this guy out. 2012 - Bradley (already stated) . 2011 -Mosley's never been kayoed. Shane i believe was one among the toughest out there. But Pac knocking him down, proved Pac has power. 2011 -JMM (already stated). 2010 -Margarito. Durabilty is what Margo brings in the ring. But I believe this should have been via stoppage. His corner just punished him for not throwing in the towel. 2010 -Clotey. The turtle defense, aside from Joshua using it, would be too tough to destroy. No one's knocking Clottey out in the business. Forget about a Pac KO win for this bout.
Boxing: Where Pacquiao's power gone?
You see bro. Pac just fought the toughest guys to lace up a pair of gloves in the last five years mah friend. The knock out win may have not been there. But the excitement he brings is always a given
Pacman has power. But, note. The "power" people refer to is his knockout over Hatton, Cotto, and Margarito.
Morales beat Pacquiao in their first fight. That's Pacman. After that, the guys he beat with knockouts that were "bigger" then him were coming off world class beatings and Cotto was even dehydrated which he admitted to. Cotto just got done being beaten by bricks. Well, Mayweather knocked Hatton out. The best Hatton, I may add. Not only did Mayweather knock him out, he beat him up for 10 rounds. Watch the fight again. Hatton took a serious beating, which is overlooked. Hatton lost so badly even sparring before the Pacman fight his face looked like hamburger. Besides, Hatton barely got by his opponent before the pacman fight and looked pretty bad.
Mainly, imho, his power is mythical. DLH weighed less than him on fight night and even admitted he was no longer good at that point. DLH weighed just about 20 lbs more on fight night when he faced Mayweather. Mosely just got beat up by Mayweather, and was older and shouldn't have been there.
Pacman was juicing against weakend opponents and the blinded fans and average fan ran with it. Pacman never hurt Bradley in 2 fights. Pacman was juicing. Admit it fans. The Pacman you adored never existed. HE REFUSED A DRUG TEST FOR 2 YEARS.
Prime Pacman lost to Morales. That is who Pacman is. A great fighter, but he really is a paper champion. End of story.
Not trying to make this a Pacman/Mayweather debate. BUT, Mayweather fought a MUCH heavier Cotto, DLH, Canelo, Maidana, Guerrero, Ortiz, etc, that Pacman really won't dare fight. I mean, why hasn't Pacman fought any of those fighters I listed if he truly is this great "8 division" "knockout" fighter? Let's get real, Mayweather is willing to give up 10-20 lbs every fight and still win. Pacman sorta fights guys coming off losses and old guys and catch weights and stuff. History will not be kind to Pacman when they look at all the big guys Mayweather fought.
Pacman's power is a myth and due to steroids.
I believed it's not. The competition just got stiffer. His last KO victim was Ricky Hatton and since then after some adjustment on his style more to a boxer, his KO ratio somewhat got hit. That's the price to pay. It seems that fighter on the higher echelon is more satisfied on just cruising along to a "W". Look at Floyd Jr. who he himself was on the drought side of KO wins. His last was when he "sucker punch" Victor Ortiz. He can not even drop his opponent unlike Manny who KD JMM although got kayoed later in the fight. Did he loss his KO power? I doubt it but to them, winning fights were not just through KO and this comes from Manny Pacquiao himself.
Pac is just too small to KO a legit welter Sean.
kind of... he floored jmm 4x in the 1st 2 fighrs, now he cant even wobble the guy..... he retired oscar, tko cotto, kd mosley, wheelchaired bradley, damage marga permanently... now he cant even floor a jr welter bambam, gone cute against bradley... that ko jmm gave him was evil, it is poisoned w/ hate and envy... damaged him for good
now, rumors of algieri fight ? wow... hes probably tellin us somethin if this fight happens
plus his heart aint in boxing anymore, I thought that ko jmm gave him will make his focus go back,., now, he coach a professional basketball team for KIA?... hes gone...
he still has it its just his opponents in the last few years have either a iron chin(rios, mosley, margarito) have really good defense(bradley, clottey) or have fought him so many time they are used to his style(marquez)
It's been 5 years since he has gotten a KO victory.
