When like an Andre Berto does it, it's retarded b/c he sucks at it.
Broner grew up watching Floyd, he admired him and his style since a young age, and he's good at it. It's ridiculous if people think him molding himself after his idol and being successful is wrong or stupid.
I don't see people b*tch b/c Kobe molded himself after his idol Jordan or Reggie Bush tries to mold himself after his idol Barry Sanders.
In terms of attitude/personality (if that's what your talking about), there is no issue, with the exception of I do understand/believe that he acts like Floyd, and it becomes repetitive. I do not think he does it on purpose though, it's just his natural way of acting.
I've said this all along, Floyd didn't start with his flamboyant talking and promotion until he was around 30, and it was calculated. That combined with him beating the cash cow in DLH is what made his name.
In the whole talk sh*t and get people to watch me, even if they're rooting against me department, Broner has a decade on Floyd.
A champion should be his self, not a sheep, but emulating a great style is brilliant, and Broner is doing a great job, his career looks a lot like Mayweather's did, in the early 20's.
Yes you're right, there's no problem at all with following Mayweather's style IN THE RING, Mayweather as you say is the best in the business so why not? Noticed I had to highlight, in the ring, the "sin" if you like is when he's trying to be like Mayweather in press conferences and on camera, he's there showing off the money & chewing the gum whilst trying to use words & phrases that Mayweather clearly owns, coming down with the live rap music although admittedly he does rap himself and not hire Lil Wayne or 50 but it's all that sh1t that gets people's backs up.
Not mine though, I like Broner, I think he's funny & very talented, maybe when he gets older he'll chill out a bit, like we've seen with Mayweather
There's nothing wrong with molding yourself after a great fighter. But Broner comes across as a second rate Mayweather copycat both inside and outside of the ring. Also, many people feel that his hyped is undeserved and his antics rub people the wrong way.
In the ring he's also emulating Charley Burley's style, Joe Walcott style, Max Schmeling Style and Floyd Mayweathers style.
Using this style won't make you great, just ask Andre Berto.
Outside the ring he's also emulating Muhammad Ali, Tony Galento, Mayweather and Ricardo Mayorga style, and that is to talk so much crap that people will pay to see you loose.
This ''style'' will always sell tickets. Mayweather would be as unpopular as Charley Burley or Guillermo Rigondeaux if he didn't talk to hype his fights. Ali put a new standard to boxing entertainment when he spoke, while Mayorga and Galento got a lot of shots which they didn't deserve thanks to their mouths.
The sin there is that Broner was idolizing an annoying cherrypicker in Floyd. That made Adrien's azz super duper annoying.
Like Stick And Move said, whats wrong about fighting like your idol. Broner admires the flamboyance and the skill. It generates money, attention, and world titles. If l were as talented as AB, l would do it too.
Because broner talks better than he fights. He's gotten 2 gift decisions. And a washed up Paulie made him look bad.
Broner ? Best? Hahahah I'd take Cesar Chavez Jr any day over broner. Hell id even take Canelo, he's faster and punches harder
Why wouldn't Broner emulate the style of the best and biggest grossing fighter in the game? What's wrong with copying an undefeated champion's style?
