Boxing: What figher is fighting in the wrong weight class?

A) Who is too small to be in his division?

B) Who is picking on smaller fighters via dehydration/ rehydration?

A. Adrien Broner at welterweight; Hozumi Hasegawa at featherweight it wasn't long ago they were fighting and somewhat dominating at two weight classes below their current division.

B. What do you mean dehydration/rehydration? Of the smaller guys? How could that be.

It would be easier for the haters to say Floyd Mayweather but the only real time he fought a smaller guy was against Juan Manuel Marquez in his first comeback fight.

I would say that it has been Canelo Alvarez who had picked on smaller opponents from the time he fought at welterweight taking on blownup lightweights Miguel Vasquez, Jose Miguel Cotto, Matthew Hatton, Ryan Rhodes up to the junior middleweight when he fought blownup welterweights Jesusito Lopez and Alfonso Gomez and Mayweather himself.

Broner is a curious case, he shadowed over his opponents at SLW but doesn't seem to fit the frame at WW. Seems the word moderation isn't on his dictionary.

Mike Alvarado was an amateur wrestler, he's used to cutting weight. He looked way bigger than Ruslan and Rios who both fight at welter.

Donaire for the longest time has been picking on smaller guys at BW and below, he looked way bigger. Ironically he was schooled by Rigo who is considered a small fighter in his division.

Chavez Jr obviously but not Canelo, he's not tall so he'd have problems moving up

Cotto, Marquez and Mares. Both had good wins in there current divisions but they just don't have the frame to be at the top

Both Chavez and Alvarez come to mind regarding fighters who fought in lower divisions than their natural. It's apparent in Chavez' case because he can no longer make 160.

Arturo Gatti and Shane Mosley both fought at 130-135 when they should have been at 147.

Regarding fighters who are in classes above their natural, I don't think Adrien Broner belongs at 147. It's obvious that the added muscle has slowed him down. I don't think he's affective at that weight. He would be better at 140.

A) Ruslan Chagaev is 5'11 quite small for a HW in this era.he usually weighs in at about 224 which aint the smallest but he has some flab.

B) Canelo.Julio Cesar Chaez.Thomas Oosthuizen.

A. Adrien Broner comes to mind.

B. i don't think it's ''picking on opponents'' if it's legal. With that said; Canelo Alvarez comes to mind when you say re hydrate. As for ''picking on''; what JCC Jr. did in his last fight and Mayweather did against Marquez can be considered ''picking'' on opponent because they didn't make weight. They came in with extra muscle weight, not extra fat weight [like Canelo].
