Debatable. but in my opinion, I don't think Ray ducked Aaron.Remember, it wasn't until the first Arguello fight, that Pryor was in any superfight. He was a talented, very good fighter.By the time, Aaron was in the ring with Arguello, Ray was retired.Realize also, that, in a two year span, Ray fought Benitez, Duran, Kalue, and Hearns.Not someone who would be scared of Aaron Pryor.
Sugar Ray Leonard absolutely and shamelessly ducked Aaron Pryor. In Truth Ray visibly feared and respected Aaron more than he did Duran, Hearns or Hagler, and understood that Pryor's skill and ability was superior to Leonard's own style and that is the God's truth. Ray Leonard knew in his heart and mind that he couldn't beat Pryor, so he avoided him.
i just can't imagine that a guy that fought duran and hearns would be scared of pryor who was quite wild at times and smaller .
