Who beats Floyd?
Yeah.... For sure Floyd looks unbeatable. You will struggle to find a challenger with a plan that will work - He seems to counter everything.
But if history has told us one thing - There's always a way.
Over 99% of the best champions have been beat. There's always the 'lucky punch'
In fairness to him, Mayweather's opposition is respectable, all are genuine title contenders who have earned their shot on merit.
The odd's are stacked high against Mayweather being victorious for another five fights ( I think he will do 50 - His ego would never allow him to quit on 49-0).
I would say Rios & Marquez are talking nonsense!
Yes coming from boxers who surely know what they are talking about. Marquez had been up there in the ring with Floyd and although Rios has not, he has a clear idea of how good Floyd is and has been and what are the chances of the top other boxers, including himself in the 140-154 lbs. weight range have against him. A few years back, I would say that Manny Pacquiao would be an exception but now am not so sure. Let's wait after his projected fight versus Rios later this year. Who knows Rios might have a different view after that. I remember Canelo Alvarez himself saying that he is not ready yet to threaten Floyd. That was before the Trout bout. But even after beating Trout, I don't think it would be wise for Canelo to tangle with Floyd this year. Perhaps next year, Canelo would have a better chance as he continues to improve while Floyd starts to show some slips.
Right now no one. Pacquiao slowed down canelo is not experienced enough it seems like age caught up with Martinez. Who left is out there the machine and Garcia come to mind but the Machine who might be able to hurt floyd if he can hit him does not have the name yet and Garcia is way overrated.
I think out of the list of the guys I mentioned Canelo in about 1 year in a half. Still young still learning needs a few more fights to learn from some of the mistakes he made in the trout fight. I was very impressed with his showing vs trout I though he was gonna get outboxed almost everyone he proved me wrong.
It would be interesting to see how he develops throughout the next couple years. As of now though I really don't see any boxer at 147 or 154 that can cause much of a problem vs Mayweather.
From a fans perspective ,a fighter is only as good as his last fight ,although Floyd Mayweather is good ,he look even better considering he was fighting a fighter that is not exactly know to have blazing hand speed and mayweather exploited that to the max and made him seem extra sharp.
Put Floyd Mayweather in the ring with someone that has fast hands and better stamina than Zab Judah like Pierre Olivier Cote ,Kelly Brook or Keith Thurman and Floyd Mayweather won't look as sharp as he did against Robert Guerrero because they can match his speed ,Mayweather may still find a way to get the win but it won't come as easy.
I agree with Eddie F. No one at 147 or 154 lbs looks likely to beat Mayweather but anybody could. For example who thought back in 1990 that the young seemingly unbeatable Mike Tyson would be knocked out by journeyman Buster Douglas, or who could have predicted in 2004 that Roy Jones Jr who was being talked about as an all time p4p great would be knocked out by Antonio Tarver?
Mayweather is 36 now so his age could all of a sudden catch up with him, especially considering he only fights once a year or so. I can't see any of the current crop beating him any time soon but it is a definite possibility that one of them could.
They are right. Who at Welterweight or Light Middleweight can beat Floyd? without landing some lucky punch or something? No one. Even if you could match him with anyone in the sport, no one has the skills to beat him. The only way I see him losing is getting hit with a lucky punch or fighting someone 4 weight classes above him or something.
I agree with that..
because no one can give Floyd a challenging fight coz Floyd will duck and wimps out..
or/and wait 3-5 years till the fighter is out of their prime, like Mosley ,Cotto and etc...
what's this... i'm outta here!!!
