Mayweather wins at 154 with some problems like the cotto fight
The fight will only take place at 147 and I don't blame him . Canelo is a big guy that goes up to 170 at fight night . If Floyd is going to fight a 170 pounder , he might as well fight Andre Ward too . Floyd is the main attraction so Canelo should come to him .
I think they are both in a tough spot. Floyd Mayweather is a natural Welterweight, and Super Welterweight is not his best weight. Yes he did move up to beat both Cotto and De La Hoya, but neither of them are Alvarez. He is a solid, natural Super Welterweight who could easily fight at Middleweight.
Sure Mayweather is far superior to him in terms of skill. That's not questionable but that doesn't change the fact that he would be fighting a much bigger man. DO I think Mayweather would win? Absolutely but that doesn't change the fact that Alvarez would outweigh him by like 20+ lbs.
Alvarez also can't go down to 147lbs. He would likely be weight drained and then the fight would be heavily criticized. Though, it will be anyway because even if Mayweather goes up in weight again and beat Alvarez he will be accused of cherry picking opponents with no experience. If Alvarez beats him however then he will get all the credit in the world for beating Mayweather, simply because of his size not skill. Lose-lose situation for Mayweather.
Catchweight, **** the titles. Just give us a fight.

Schaefer already said there is NO weight issue. So don't believe anything about mayweather wants canelo at 147 because all that is lies.
I think both parties have to come to an agreement. It seems Mayweather just wants to fight under his terms only.
floyd is 5'8....canelo is 5'7... man i dont see why floyd should demand a catchweight...he should be getting up if he want canelo's belt, and floyd's size can make him fight on both 147 and 154 weightclass
pac did the same but it's understandable, he's 5'6 1/2" smaller and he's fighting giants...
Floyd wins by decison but floyd only fights under his terms and i think he wont fight canelo

Rumors have had it and has been going around that Floyd Mayweather, Jr will only fight Saul Alvarez at 147.
I believe Alvarez is a big boy and might have troubles making 147, the guy himself is light middleweight and on Fight night goes up to 170+. Dropping down to Welterweight would most likely drain him.
What are your thoughts on this and will the fight take place?
