Better All Time Ray Lenard or Ray Robinson?

Clearly Robinson. While I could arguably place Leonard at #2 at 147, Robinson is the Only champion who clearly stands above the rest in his division throughout history.

.

At 160, Robinson's peers are closer to him. Some even argue that a few are better. The Top four at 160 have long been Robinson, Greb, Monzon and Hagler. The order depends on who you ask.

.

Some would squeeze Hopkins and Jones Jr. in that group. However, that still separates this group of six, clearly from the rest of the 160 lb. division's rich history. This includes Leonard, which brings me to the biggest reason why Robinson stands well above him.

.

If you look at both at 160, Leonard wasn't very impressive at all. He hand picked his fights and wasn't overly impressive in any of them. He was much better at 147. While Robinson was also better at 147, he was still enormously successful at 160, at least until he reached his late 30s.

.

To get an idea, At 147, just imagine Thomas Hearns with Leonard's balance and in-fighting ability. Give him the heart of a Frazier or Marciano and you're close to what Robinson was at 147.

Most would list Henry Armstrong second overall. While I rank him higher, historically, I still think Leonard would beat him at 147. Still, Robinson is the only fighter who stands clearly above all others at his best. At 147, he has no peers.

Robinson

Ray Robinson, he was 128-1-2 at one point in his career

Robinson by a lot

Robinson is light years better than Leonard.

robinson. i think we need to stop letting fighters be called suger at this point

Lenard was undisputed....
