Best sport to get in shape?

Swimming is brilliant for general fitness and losing weight.

Swimming tones the majority of your main muscles.

(If you can't swim i'm sorry)

But if you can try and go twice a week or even once a week and try to swim a certain amount of lengths

e.g.

4 front crawl = standard speed

1 breast stroke = rest lap

if you repeat this until you have done 25 and then as you progress do more and more:)

The "standard wisdom" is that one gets in shape to play sports, not plays sports to get in shape.

The problem with relying on sports for fitness is that most folks don't do it often enough. A weekly pickup b-ball game or weekend tennis session may be fun, but you need daily activity for fitness and weight control.

Also, a great deal depends on how you are playing/training.

When I was involved in TKD years ago, our instructor would put us through an exhaustive hour-long training session before even starting the lesson.

Likewise, a pro tennis player under the tutelage of a trainer is going to put in hours of drills and other training devices through the week.

Tennis is a good spor to loose weight, but if you want to work on your abs, horse riding is an amazing sport to do, and it helps with everything! Yoga is also good, or hiking :)

If you mean you want to lose weight. Try sprinting (athletics), it burns fat... fast! Boxing is also a good sport, it is explosive, and very tiring. Aside from super heavyweights, have you seen any overweight boxer before?

Swimming would help you a lot. It is a cure for many things

There are many sports that could help you . You could try football , netball even hockey .

So i practice tennis and taekwondo twice a week but are these good sports to get in shape i mean i am a bit overweight im 13 height 1.65 and im 150 pouns :/ so i wan't to know if there's some extra exercise i could do and to get in shape i mean lose some weight and work on the abs :/
