Muhammad Ali is the GOAT because he taken on Larry holmes, George foreman, Sonny liston, Leon spinks, Jimmy ellis, Joe frazier. Ken norton, and Ernie shavers. He beat 7 all time greats that is ranked in the top 10. He arguably fought in the best era in heavyweight history. The other heavyweights will not come close.
Joe Louis, Ali, Marciano
Joe Louis had 25 successful title defenses as undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, a feat that still stands.
Joe Louis is the most accurate puncher in compubox history.
9 years he reigned as undisputed champion.
Statistics don't lie.
Joe Louis is the greatest heavyweight ever.
The rest is baseless opinions.
But if you want opinions lets see what Louis did outside the ring; he opened the door for blacks in boxing, he opened the doors for minorities in golf and he opened the door for minorities in the army, he also served as an honorable WW2 veteran.
No way around it; Joe Louis is the greatest.
@Billboxing, also Larry Holmes. He was the most complete HW champ in history cause he had no weakness, could fight on the outside and inside and could either outbox or out-brawl his opponents.
Ali
IMO......Leaving out Joe Louis and Sonny Liston for Norton and Bruno is a big mistake both could definitely take Norton and Bruno.
