Well if you mix ballet and gymnastics you get rhythmic gymnastics which is a bit of both. I do rhythmics you learn a bit of ballet and do free routines which is quite like ballet we also learn gymnastics type thing such as basic tumbling so rolls , cartwheels and walkovers and its all very graceful you can use the equipment such as hoop, ball, rope, ribbon and clubs and you get routines with them and then you do a lot of competitions. If there is no rhythmic gymnastics around i would recommend gymnastics over ballet personally as even in artistic you pick up a bit of ballet. If you join gymnastics / ballet there is nothing stopping you doig the other at home there are loads of tutorials and classes on youtube and many books to help you out at home. We have a youtube channel with some basic gymnastics on t to learn at home just type hollie kate to youtube and our channel comes up. or you can just show your mum your really interested practice both at home and show her how much you like them and offer her some of your pocket money to help pay for them.
It's a shame you have too choose. The Olympic Gymnasts even incorporate ballet into training.
Best thing to do is try and convince your Mom you can and want to do both. Do this by striking some sort of deal like doing chores to help her or doing babysitting to raise money to help. Do Not whine to convince her (your 13 not 5). Show her how thoughtful and serious you are.
i had the same predicament.
i still do dance though.
they are both so fun to do.
depends what you like. you can do a bit of dance in gymnastics and you stay fit in flexible
and in ballet its fun to dress up and perform for other people as well as perfect your technique.
hope this helps x
Gymnastics. I use to do It. It's a lot of fun!
Hi!
I am 13 years old and interested in doing ballet, but also interested in doing gymnastics, and my mum is only letting me choose one! I love them both equally and have no idea which one to pick.
Which one should I do?
Thank you so SO much in advance for answering, I appreciate it so much!
Btw I'm 164cm and 50kgs.
