At this point. I have to go with Arreola based on experience and toughness. Wilder may hit like a truck, but he's hasn't fought anyone even close to Arreola's caliber and while Arreloa does get stunned on occasion, he's never been stopped. I think Arreola will take Wilder's best shots and KO him in 4. It took Vitali Klitshcko 10 rounds to stop Arreola and he never knocked him off his feet, and Vitali has one of the highest KO percentages in boxing history and also has a powerful right hand. I just don't see Wilder beating Arreola. He may stun him early, but Chris roars back to stop him in dramatic fashion.

Part of the reason Arreola gets hurt against journeymen a lot is due to the lack of motivation ,if Arreola gets a big fight or a title shot on HBO or Showime ,he will be getter version of him than what we've seen of him lately. From a promoters perspective ,he still needs to get past Seth Mitchell ,otherwise if he suffers a loss to Mitchell he will need to rebuild his confidence if Arreola loses two in a row to contenders ,he's finished as an elite fighter and won't be as marketable.

Wilder on the other hand ,I would like to see him against a journeyman with a solid chin or a veteran that has never been stopped like Dominick Guinn or Alonzo Butler or even James Toney.

At this point ,I think Arreola is more fundamentally sound and battle tested than Wilder but like you said Arreola has lackluster defense and all it takes is one right hook from Wilder and it's lights out.
