Warriors MMA but its good
There are several good boxing movies to watch, but not all involve boxing and crime. Here are some:
PRICE OF GLORY (2000): Deals with a former boxer who has three sons who are now boxers. A crooked promoter is trying to sign the sons to his promotion, which causes a rift in the family. I won't ruin the film for you, but check it out.
RAGING BULL (1980): Focuses on Jake LaMotta's ties to the Mafia. Was nominated for Best Picture.
CHAMPION (2004): Biography of a Korean boxer, Duk Su-Kim, who died in a fight against Ray Mancini
CINDERELLA MAN (2005): Great film about James J. Braddock; set during the Great Depression
SPLIT DECISION (2001): Biography about Jesus Chavez, an undocumented alien boxer who was deported to Mexico...and his efforts to legally return to the U.S.
Here are some good boxing documentaries:
* Born and Bred
* Life of Million Dollar Babies
* On the Ropes
* Tyson
* Life and Times of Sugar Ray Robinson
Raging Bull is great. It is about Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta.
RAGING BULL with Robert De Niro. An old film but a good one.
The Harder They Fall.
Catch it on TCM
