It depends. If the program is good then it's usually more expensive. But good programs have a lot of fundraisers. For example, I play softball for my high school and it's $450 a year.... It covers uniforms, tournament fees, merc, and this camp we go to at Alabama every summer. It's an investment so don't play around.
I think it's cheaper, but it depends if the sport outside of school is serious or not. Usually if it's serious it's expensive.
