I respect Floyd too; but the only truly dangerous fighter at the height of his powers that he has ever faced is the late Diego "Chico" Corrales. Along with Pacquaio, Floyd has avoided at Welter Weight: Paul "the punisher" Williams, the pre-Margarito beat-down (and damaged goods) Cotto, and currently Keith Thurman.
Okay, nobody at welter-weight wanted any part of Williams; but contrast this with the great Sugar Ray Leonard (who ducked NO ONE) immediately stepping up to face Thomas Hearns--an even scarier six foot plus welter weight than Williams. This is why, while Floyd may the best of this generation, he cannot be compared to the likes of Ray Leonard--let alone Ray Robinson. And this is also why 50 Cent maybe has a good point.
Mayweathers ability to fight the right opponent at the right time (or not face them at all) is almost as good as his boxing ability. He is the best boxer of his generation, he just managed to not face many of the best performing fighters in and around his weight division for the best part of a decade.Call it what you may but for a fighter of Mayweathers unquestionable ability to have not faced some of the fighters he chose not to fight you have to say he was very selective about who he was willing to face. Will it affect his legacy?Who knows, boxing aint what it used to be, it is a business rather than a sport and from a business sense Floyd is a phenomenon.
I Think it's a ploy between Mayweather and 50 Cents to encourage Pacquiao to sign with TMT ,that way Pacquiao will have more of a sense of trust without feeling double teamed by 50 and Mayweather.
For someone to say or even imply that Floyd Mayweather's legacy as a fighter is damaged by the inability to make one fight is undermining the years of top level performance agasint elite level fighters.
It's simply irresponsible as a Boxing fan, what fighter in the history of the sport can have wins over Mosley, De La Hoya, Marquez, Cotto, and Saul Alvarez and STILL not be considered great. Its SILLY to even suggest that an entire legacy depends on one fight.
Do I think Floyd Mayweather avoided Manny Pacqauio, YES, but in some respects I feel like Manny Pacqauio avoided Floyd Mayweather too. I think BOTH MEN are responsible for the fight not happening.
Its unfair to blame just Floyd when Manny Pacquaio/ Top Rank/ and Bob Arum did there fair share of avoiding Floyd Mayweather too.
30 years from now I don't think it'll be that big of a deal, I think fans are making more of it than it really is. It's ONE fight, its not the entire sport, its not someones entire legacy, it didn't happen and I think its time we start focusing on fights that will actually happen.
I used to think the same until he fought alvarez. Even tho the fight was 1 sided he proved to me he isn't just a slick boxer but has the heart n courage to take risks and fight strong opposition. I think he should fight pacman tho which he should win but the match still hasn't been made. Can u imagine prime mayweather against prime Pacquiao? What a fight that would have been
Yes hes overrated, he cherry picks fighters. I dont think hes in top 40 best boxers. He should have lost his fight to Castillo. Oh, and De LA Hoya gave him a boxing lesson. lol
Ag"fukng"ree.lol
Who in their right thinking would not agree with 50 Cents in that statement.
I appreciate Floyd also for being so honest in his admission that he cherrypicked opponent and that he's a coward. It takes a real MAN to speak out things like these. I mean a PU$$y MAN.
Look sorry pactard but would PAC have the balls to step in the ring with Canelo? Doubt it. He'd get knocked out and PAC would never agree unless it were at a 150 catch weight draining Alvarez. Who's the cherry picker again?
cus of one fight that never happened, floyds great skill became questionable....
pac used peds? reallly? wheres the link?
pac avoided floyd? lie!
floyd avoided pac? fact
floyd admits cherrypicking? fact!
50c calls floyd a cherrypicker? whats new?
pac v. csnelo? wtf, past prime margarito and cotto will expose
canelos a hype job
30 years? we will see an asterisk on floyds legacy, and that asterisk is pac... just like hagler to leonards if they never fought
Below is the video.
He also says that ''the guys that fight the toughest guys go down in history'' after saying that Mayweather does not do this.
Do you agree with him?

There are also videos of Mayweather admitting that he cherry picks easy fights, and he calls himself a ''rick coward''.
I'm no Mayweather hater. If anything i respect him for cleaning the sport unlike Pacquiao who i think took PEDs.
But let's be honest; in 30 years how will Mayweather be perceived after Floyd is out of the spotlight?
