Hawaiian theme might be good for the hotter temperatures, and it is common enough that finding decorations cheaply and easily would not be much of an issue. You could also do a theme from your childhood, such as your favorite television show or music group. Have the guests show up dressed in character for added fun. You can also look into having a murder mystery party, where everyone has to guess who the killer is, the motive, etc. There are kits available for purchase, and this would be a unique, fun experience for your guests. Think: "real-life Clue."
I'm planning to throw a birthday party for my 25th birthday. I have a good amount of male and female friends. My birthday is in August (pretty hot) so I'm going to be decorating the inside and outside of my house. I live in a duplex, but still have good size to it.
